After extensive speculation, Cremaschi is now set to establish his career in Italy, as the Serie A outfit triggered the €4 million clause to convert his loan — originally slated until September 2025 — into a permanent agreement. The American midfielder, a product of the Inter Miami academy, earned the Young American Player of the Year award last season and boasts three caps for his national team.
This development ensures his long-term future with the Italian club.
Despite his highly anticipated arrival, Cremaschi found limited opportunities to demonstrate his full potential in a Parma shirt. Joining the club shortly after Argentinian international Rodrigo De Paul, the young American struggled to regain his optimal physical condition and match fitness. He made his debut in October but subsequently featured only sporadically before suffering a season-ending knee injury in March.
Cremaschi, a central midfielder by trade, had become an unlikely candidate to rejoin the Inter Miami squad following his criticisms of coach Javier Mascherano’s tactical decisions. Being deployed in various positions, his playing time diminished, fueling his growing dissatisfaction.
“I am frustrated, I want to play,” Cremaschi stated last August. “The most important thing for me is to perform at a very high level, and to achieve that, I need playing time and experience. I have played very little in recent matches, and I do not believe it is due to my performance level.”
Shortly thereafter, the Miami club arranged his loan spell to provide him with the desired playing opportunities.
Cremaschi’s permanent departure is expected to significantly benefit the Herons in their transfer market ambitions. The club is reportedly showing interest in former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, who is currently a free agent. With one less midfielder on the books and an additional squad spot now open, Inter Miami appears poised to potentially welcome another high-profile signing.
