Cameroon’s civil service announces 2,305 positions for the 2026 recruitment cycle
The government of Cameroon has officially released details of its 2026 civil service recruitment process, unveiling 2,305 available positions across multiple government agencies. The Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform, led by Minister Joseph Le, initiated the process by publishing 36 official decrees on June 4, outlining participation guidelines. These documents also specify how the available roles are distributed across different sectors.
Diverse recruitment pathways for qualified candidates
Traditional recruitment methods account for 890 positions, including 470 direct-entry roles in key sectors such as finance, agriculture, mining, civil engineering, livestock, maritime fisheries, telecommunications, and public health. An additional 100 spots are earmarked for training at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and National Youth and Sports Centers (CENAJES). Another 220 positions are reserved for candidates selected through the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), while 100 roles will be filled via selective testing.
Specialized recruitment initiatives expand opportunities
The 2026 intake also includes 1,200 positions under presidential directives for the education and healthcare sectors. Within this category, 1,000 spots are designated for free auditors at Normal Schools (ENS) and National Higher Schools of Technical Education (ENSET). Additionally, 200 roles are reserved for medical specialists, complementing 920 healthcare positions announced earlier in April 2026. Candidates applying for free auditor positions will select their preferred training institution during application, with exams conducted at regional centers aligned with their chosen schools.
Professional exams fill remaining roles
The final 215 positions will be filled through professional competitive exams, providing another pathway for career advancement in the public sector.
A comparison with the previous year reveals a reduction in available roles, with 555 fewer positions than the 2,860 openings offered during the 2025 recruitment cycle.
