The President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, dispatched a high-level delegation to Yaoundé this past Friday, July 17, 2026, bearing a personal message for his Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya.
The delegation, led by Dr. Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Chadian Abroad, included Mahamat Saleh Abdeldjelil, Special Advisor to the Head of State, Fatima Haram Acyl, Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology, and Hassan Adoum Younousmi, Director-General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ARSAT).

With Paul Biya currently abroad, the delegation was received at the Étoudi Palace by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Presidency of Cameroon.
While the contents of the message remain undisclosed, the delegation head emphasized its alignment with the robust ties between both heads of state and their respective peoples. He noted that this gesture underscores the commitment of top officials in both countries to deepen cooperation and maintain ongoing dialogue on shared priorities.

The discussions extended beyond the presidential message, focusing on potential collaborations in key sectors vital to both economies. Key areas explored included economic, energy, and infrastructure partnerships, reflecting a shared ambition to enhance sub-regional integration.
This diplomatic mission reinforces the long-standing privileged relationship between N’Djamena and Yaoundé. It highlights both nations’ dedication to sustaining a framework for continuous consultation and strengthening historical, political, and economic bonds.
