The Banking Commission of Central Africa (COBAC) has revoked the operating license of Financial Development Tchad (FINADEV Tchad S.A.), a second-tier microfinance institution headquartered in N’Djamena. This decision, issued on February 5, 2026, marks a significant regulatory intervention in the country’s financial sector.
The announcement, made public on May 21, underscores the immediate consequences of the revocation. From the moment the decision was formally notified, FINADEV Tchad S.A. entered into a liquidation process, signaling the end of its operations as a licensed microfinance provider.
According to the official statement, the liquidation process has been assigned a maximum duration of one year. This timeframe may be extended if deemed necessary by the regulatory body to ensure a thorough and orderly resolution.
