New leadership bolsters Morocco’s water sector governance
The annual gathering brought together stakeholders from across Morocco’s water industry, culminating in the election of a 27-member board and a 12-member executive committee. These leaders represent both public agencies and private enterprises shaping the nation’s water future.
During the assembly, delegates reviewed and approved the Association’s financial and ethical reports while voting to amend its statutes. These changes aim to modernize operations, aligning them with current water sector dynamics and reinforcing industrial sovereignty initiatives.
Established in 1997, the Association Marocaine des Entreprises de Promotion de l’Eau et de l’Assainissement (AMEPA) now unites over 95 active members. Its network spans public operators, private contractors, regional multiservice companies, concession holders, and specialized engineering firms focused on potable water and sanitation.
The newly elected leadership has set ambitious goals: fostering a more cohesive and resilient ecosystem to elevate Morocco’s water engineering and industrial capabilities. The strategy targets excellence not only domestically but also across Africa and beyond.
