Congo and Togo strengthen bilateral ties with high-level talks in Oyo

Congolese President Denis Sassou-N’Guesso welcomed Togolese counterpart Faure Gnassingbé in Oyo this weekend for a pivotal meeting aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic ties between the Republic of the Congo and Togo.

The bilateral discussions covered critical areas of mutual interest, including enhanced cooperation frameworks, regional security dynamics across Central and West Africa, and shared strategies for continental economic growth.

During the meeting, both leaders underscored their dedication to fostering a more united, secure, and economically robust Africa. They highlighted the importance of South-South collaboration to address pressing issues such as climate change, economic transformation, and regional stability.

The historic city of Oyo, located in the Cuvette region of the Republic of the Congo, has emerged as a key diplomatic hub, frequently hosting high-level state visits and international engagements.
