
The Front for the Defense of Democracy and the Republic (FDR) has issued a strong response following the Constitutional Council’s ruling regarding the reinstatement of Ousmane Sonko to the National Assembly. In a statement released on Thursday, the opposition coalition asserted that this judicial decision does not resolve the political contention surrounding the former Prime Minister’s return to his parliamentary seat.
Acknowledging the Council’s decision, where the esteemed judges declared their lack of jurisdiction over the forfeiture claims presented by the petitioners, the FDR maintains that this ruling in no way diminishes the validity of their objections against the Pastef leader’s reintegration.
