From May 12 to 15, 2026, Abidjan is set to host the 7th Annual General Assembly of ID4Africa at the Parc des Expositions in Port-Bouët. This year’s gathering revolves around the theme: “Digital identity: from public digital infrastructures to public digital ecosystems.”
ID4Africa serves as a premier pan-African forum, uniting public policymakers, digital identity specialists, technical partners, private sector stakeholders, and representatives from international institutions.
The official inauguration on May 12, 2026, was led by Vice President of the Republic, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, marking the beginning of four days of intensive discussions.
Central to the agenda are critical challenges such as secure population identification systems, seamless access to digital public services, robust data protection measures, and the development of inclusive digital ecosystems.
The conference aims to shift the focus beyond mere technical infrastructures toward holistic systems that integrate human, legal, institutional, and sector-specific dimensions.
Established in 2014, ID4Africa has been instrumental in supporting African nations in building resilient and responsible digital identity frameworks, driving digital transformation, and enhancing humanitarian efforts.
By hosting this event, Côte d’Ivoire reaffirms its commitment to advancing the continent’s digital evolution while underscoring the pivotal role of reliable digital identities in ensuring citizens’ access to essential services.
