The National Bureau of Land Freight of Chad (BNFT), alongside freight management authorities in Cameroon and the Central African Republic, have inked a landmark digital trade corridor agreement on May 12, setting a bold vision for 2030.
This groundbreaking pact is designed to revolutionize how goods move through Central Africa by digitizing transit processes. By streamlining administrative procedures, the initiative aims to cut delays, enhance security, and boost efficiency in cross-border trade across the region.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Saleh Youssouf Erda, Director-General of the BNFT, emphasized the critical role of digital transformation in modern logistics. « This agreement symbolizes our shared commitment to building a smarter, more responsive transport network. In today’s digital era, streamlined processes mean faster, safer, and more reliable trade flows », he explained.
The Central African Republic’s Transport Minister’s representative highlighted the collaborative efforts behind the pact. « Months of strategic dialogue have culminated in this agreement, which will drastically reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and fortify cargo security. Trust and efficiency are the cornerstones of economic integration », he noted.
By aligning on this digital-first approach, the three nations are positioning themselves to strengthen regional economic ties and unlock new trade opportunities across Central Africa.
