Senegal’s government advisor Bacary Thior has stepped down from his position in the Prime Minister’s office following Ousmane Sonko’s departure from the premiership. The move, he stated, was made in strict adherence to his personal convictions and unwavering principles.
In a statement released this Thursday, the former technical advisor for health matters announced his resignation, citing the transition in leadership as the decisive factor behind his decision.
Dr. Bacary Thior emphasized that while he departs from his official role, his commitment to serving the nation remains steadfast. He expressed readiness to contribute wherever his expertise is deemed valuable by state authorities. Additionally, he reaffirmed his ongoing support for Ousmane Sonko, both as the leader of the Pastef party and as President of the National Assembly.
