Yan diomande transfer saga: liverpool reportedly agrees terms, psg faces setback

Paris Saint-Germain, a club widely recognized as being interested in securing the services of Yan Diomande, may need to shift its focus to alternative targets. Reports indicate that the Ivorian international has already reached an agreement in principle with Premier League giant Liverpool. The remaining hurdle appears to be negotiating a deal with RB Leipzig, who are reportedly demanding a substantial €120M fee for the player’s departure.

Having joined RB Leipzig just one year ago from Léganes, it seems highly probable that Yan Diomande will not be completing a second season with the German club. The Ivorian international, who has earned 12 caps for his country, enjoyed an impressive 2025-2026 campaign, contributing 13 goals and 10 assists across all competitions. Currently showcasing his talent at the 2026 World Cup, Diomande is a highly sought-after player, with PSG and Liverpool leading the chase for his signature.

Liverpool and Diomande strike an agreement

While previous reports suggested that Luis Enrique had personally engaged in discussions regarding this transfer, the Spanish tactician’s efforts may ultimately prove insufficient. According to information circulating, Yan Diomande has reportedly already reached a personal agreement with the Reds, who are actively seeking a successor for their prolific forward Mohamed Salah. The focus now shifts to finalising terms with RB Leipzig, where the 19-year-old winger remains under contract until 2030. The German club is said to be steadfast in their demand for €120M to sanction his departure.

“my agents are handling it”

Even Emerse Faé, the coach of the Côte d’Ivoire national team, could not escape questions surrounding his player’s future. Following Côte d’Ivoire‘s 1-0 victory over Ecuador, the Éléphants‘ manager commented: «When we were in France for preparation, journalists claimed he was going to sign with PSG. Now, today, I arrive in the United States, and I’m told he’s signing with Liverpool. We’ll see. I believe he is very focused on the World Cup first, and then he will make the best decision for the next stage of his career.» The player himself redirected inquiries to his representatives, stating: «My agents are handling it, and I am more focused on my World Cup. That is the most important thing. It doesn’t happen all the time; it’s every four years, so I’m enjoying it to the fullest. The rest, we will see
