Even as the global football spotlight shines on the World Cup, a significant development in the transfer market has emerged, with the official launch of the summer transfer window. This window is active even for players participating in the tournament. A prime example is Gonçalo Ramos, the prolific Paris Saint-Germain forward, whose contractual future has now been decided, with only the final formalities awaiting completion.
A definitive agreement has been reached between Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan for the transfer of Gonçalo Ramos. The Portuguese striker is set to depart PSG and join the Italian giants. This high-profile operation is valued at an impressive 70 million euros, inclusive of various performance bonuses.
A historic transfer for both clubs
The 25-year-old Portuguese goalscorer initially arrived in the French capital in August 2023 from Benfica, first on a paid loan deal worth 20 million euros, which later converted into a permanent transfer for approximately 65 million euros. His move to AC Milan now positions him as the most expensive acquisition in the Rossoneri’s history, surpassing the 50 million euros paid for Rafael Leao from Lille in 2019.
From the Parisian perspective, this transaction represents a significant financial gain. Only Neymar’s departure to Al-Hilal in 2023, valued at 90 million euros, generated a higher return for the capital club. During his tenure with Paris Saint-Germain, Gonçalo Ramos featured in 131 matches across all competitions, impressively contributing 45 goals and nine assists.
