Prime minister launches investor-focused session of Côte d’Ivoire’s national development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, dedicated to investors, kicked off in Abidjan at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, presided over by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

« Today marks a milestone in this consultative process focused on investment, enterprise, and value creation, » declared the Prime Minister. « Our goal is to mobilize private investments essential for implementing our development vision. I am pleased to report that over 700 investors from partner countries have joined this gathering. »

Addressing a packed audience of business leaders and private sector representatives, the Head of Government emphasized the significance of this forum as a platform for dialogue and alignment on shared development priorities.

« Your presence here reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory, » he said. « You are key partners in turning our vision into reality—a more competitive, job-creating economy. The success of this vision depends on your willingness to invest. »

The Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors that the country’s economy, which has displayed remarkable resilience and adaptability amid global uncertainties, continues to rank among Africa’s most robust performers, with an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years.

« This is a market brimming with opportunity, » he stated. « Today’s proceedings will fast-track investments in the PND’s priority sectors—industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, critical infrastructure in transport, digital technology, and logistics, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services. These efforts will enhance productivity, inclusivity, and economic competitiveness. »

He recalled that the first day of the Consultative Group, focused on institutional partners and the country’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business communities voiced their backing for the national development agenda. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) and President of the Africa Committee of MEDEF, and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s vision. They pledged substantial financial contributions to support the PND 2026-2030 implementation.
