The High Authority of Communication (HAC) in Gabon has taken decisive action, suspending the Info 241 news website. This measure stems from a contentious article published by the site, which bore the provocative title: « Lanlaire balance sur Oligui : 150 000 € offerts, vidéos compromettantes, bisexualité, 20 milliards dilapidés… ».

The individual referred to as Lanlaire, whose real name is Anges Landry Mbeng, is a Gabonese influencer currently residing in France.

The HAC asserts that Info 241’s article contained « injurious, scandalous and unusually virulent remarks concerning the person of the President of the Republic and his family ». According to the regulatory body, the media outlet committed serious breaches of the law, justifying its indefinite suspension.

In response to the suspension, Info 241 issued a statement, accusing the HAC of making an impulsive ruling « without even reading the article that triggered its latest rash decision ».

The incident has sparked widespread discussion across the nation. Numerous supporters of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema have voiced their demands for legal proceedings against Lanlaire and those deemed his accomplices.
