Lucas Digne, the French international defender, is set to rejoin Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after his contract with Aston Villa expires on June 30, 2028. The 32-year-old left-back has been a key player for the Villans since joining in 2019 and has also represented France at the World Cup.
The PSG offer
According to sources close to the club, PSG have made contact with Aston Villa regarding Digne’s availability. The French giants are keen to bring him back to the Parc des Princes, where he played for three seasons from 2013 to 2016.
A clause in his contract
Digne has a release clause of £11.7 million, which could be triggered if a club is interested in signing him. PSG are reportedly willing to meet this figure to secure his services.
a return to the French capital?
While there is no official confirmation from either party, it seems likely that Digne will return to PSG after the World Cup. The defender has been a regular for France since 2021 and has spoken highly of the club he left in 2016.
