Mali forces claim major strike against armed groups in northern regions

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) reported on Thursday that a series of coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed combatants linked to militant groups.

According to an official statement, the targeted groups included fighters from the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azavad Liberation Front (FLA). The military operations featured 13 precision airstrikes that also neutralized six armored vehicles and a pickup truck.

The FAMA emphasized that these actions were part of an ongoing nationwide campaign against armed factions, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining disciplined and resolute operations in close collaboration with international partners.

Additional details emerged from the African Corps, which disclosed that the strikes successfully destroyed and set ablaze a significant number of militant vehicles. The unit also reported that one of its drones intercepted a vehicle transporting military supplies and ammunition.

The Russian Africa Corps confirmed its involvement in these joint operations, describing them as highly effective against armed groups in the region. The Corps pledged to continue targeting militant positions and equipment to sustain pressure on their operations.
