Mali security forces report significant gains against armed groups in northern operations

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) have announced substantial achievements in recent military operations conducted in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat, where they claim to have neutralized nearly a hundred armed combatants.

Coordinated strikes target militant strongholds

In a detailed statement, the army revealed that these operations specifically targeted members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). The campaign involved 13 precision airstrikes, which successfully destroyed six combat vehicles and a pickup truck, significantly degrading the militants’ logistical capabilities.

Military commitment to sustained action

Military officials emphasized that these operations took place on Tuesday as part of an ongoing nationwide campaign against armed factions. The statement underscored the disciplined and resolute approach of FAMA forces, reaffirming their determination to continue such missions in close partnership with allied forces.

The African Corps also shared updates on social media, reporting the destruction and burning of multiple militant vehicles during the operations. Additionally, their reconnaissance drone reportedly intercepted and targeted a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further disrupting insurgent operations in the region.

The Russian Africa Corps highlighted the success of these joint efforts, describing them as productive collaborative operations alongside Malian troops. They reiterated their commitment to persistently targeting militant positions and seizing their equipment to weaken their operational capacity.
