Mali army reports major strike against armed groups in north

Mali’s armed forces have declared that a series of coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly 100 armed fighters linked to two militant factions.

According to an official statement, the missions specifically targeted members of the coalition known as Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) and the Front de Libération de l’Azawad (FLA). The operations included 13 precision airstrikes that successfully destroyed six combat vehicles along with a pickup truck, significantly degrading the militants’ mobility and logistical capabilities.

The Malian army emphasized that these operations were conducted on Tuesday as part of an ongoing nationwide campaign to dismantle armed groups operating across the country. Forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining disciplined and resolute action in partnership with allied contingents, ensuring sustained pressure on insurgent networks.

A follow-up statement from Corps d’Afrique highlighted the destruction of multiple militant vehicles through coordinated strikes. The group also reported that one of its drones intercepted and targeted a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further crippling the adversaries’ operational capacity.

Corps d’Afrique further described the missions as highly effective joint operations conducted alongside Malian troops, vowing to persistently pursue and neutralize militant positions and resources in the region.
