In a province along Lake Chad grappling with mounting pressure from Boko Haram’s relentless strikes, women have forged an unbreakable bond. Under the banner of the Provincial Women’s Network, they gathered in Baga-Sola on May 22, 2026, to pledge unwavering backing to the defense and security forces while rallying for unity against the looming terrorist threat.
Led by the network’s chairperson, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, a delegation of women met with the General Delegate of the Government for the Lake Province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, at the Baga-Sola headquarters. Their mission was unambiguous: to reinforce moral, logistical, and material support for the troops battling Boko Haram in the region.
On behalf of the women of Lake Province, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye praised the tireless efforts of administrative and military authorities in curbing insecurity and safeguarding stability across the province. She forcefully denounced the terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of numerous defense and security personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Chad.
To solidify their commitment, the delegation presented food supplies to the forces actively engaged in combat operations.
In response, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani hailed the women’s initiative as a “wave of patriotism,” emphasizing the pivotal role women play in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism.
