The 2026-2027 coffee and cocoa harvest in Côte d’Ivoire officially launches on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, coinciding with the 10th edition of the National Cocoa and Chocolate Days (JNCC) at the Abidjan Exhibition Park. The event will unveil the new field-edge prices, a key moment for producers across the country.
The announcement will be made by Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné on behalf of President Alassane Ouattara, setting the tone for the season’s pricing strategy.
During the main 2025-2026 campaign (October 2025 to February 2026), the field-edge price reached 2,800 FCFA per kilogram—a historic high. However, the mid-season campaign (March to August 2026) saw a sharp drop to 1,200 FCFA per kilogram, reflecting the sharp decline in global cocoa market prices.
As the world’s top cocoa producer, accounting for roughly 40% of global supply, Côte d’Ivoire’s 2025-2026 harvest totaled nearly 2.2 million tons. This season was marked by volatile export trends and state intervention, with authorities purchasing around 123,000 tons of residual beans amid sluggish global market activity.
Looking ahead to 2026-2027, production forecasts face headwinds from climate challenges and aging cocoa tree orchards. Industry analysts project a potential decline in output to around 1.8 million tons.
Running from September 1 to 3, the 10th JNCC edition serves as a pivotal gathering for the coffee-cocoa sector. It provides a platform for dialogue, showcasing innovations, and strengthening partnerships among government, business leaders, and industry professionals.
This milestone event will feature high-level conferences, expert panels, business networking, and exhibition spaces. The goal is to solidify the JNCC’s role as the leading forum for fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and advancing sustainable growth in Côte d’Ivoire’s coffee and cocoa industry.
The anniversary edition will also highlight progress from past editions and outline a roadmap for future advancements in competitiveness and sustainability within the sector.
