Media expansion
Medi1 TV secures official broadcasting rights in Mali
Building on its long-standing presence in Mali through Radio Méditerranée Internationale (Medi 1), which has served Bamako audiences for years via FM radio, Medi1 TV now marks a significant milestone with official authorization to broadcast across the country.
In a landmark agreement with Mali’s Haute Autorité de la Communication (HAC), Medi1 TV has been granted full authorization to establish and broadcast its programming across Mali. This milestone not only strengthens the channel’s continental ambitions but also underscores a shared commitment to fostering sovereign African media that reflects the continent’s realities and progress.
Medi1 TV, a leading 24/7 news channel with national, regional, and continental reach, reaffirms its dedication to journalistic ethics, rigorous reporting, balanced coverage, and strict adherence to Mali’s regulatory framework. The channel’s expansion into television broadcasting builds upon its existing FM radio presence in Bamako, where Radio Méditerranée Internationale (Medi 1) has been a trusted voice for years.
The new broadcasting license paves the way for enhanced collaboration with Mali’s audiovisual sector. Through knowledge-sharing initiatives, professional training, and digital innovation partnerships, Medi1 TV aims to contribute to a sustainable and mutually beneficial media ecosystem in Mali.
As a pan-African news channel rooted in African identity, Medi1 TV distinguishes itself through comprehensive coverage of the continent’s affairs. It prioritizes balanced reporting on geopolitical and economic issues, highlights developmental initiatives, and amplifies social and cultural movements. By offering credible, pluralistic, and accessible news, the channel empowers African audiences with the information they need to engage meaningfully with their continent’s progress.
This agreement is a testament to the strong partnership between Medi1 TV and Mali’s HAC, reflecting the dynamic cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali. Both nations share a vision of fostering a modern, professional, and globally connected African media landscape.
Founded in 2006 as a bilingual and community-oriented news channel for the Maghreb, Medi1 TV has since evolved into a multichannel, multilingual news network with regional and continental reach. Leveraging a diverse, multicultural team and a robust presence across satellite and digital platforms, the channel delivers high-quality news coverage of African and international events, supporting both citizens and the continent’s development.
