The relationship between Morocco and the Philippines is built upon a significant foundation, ripe for further development across numerous strategic sectors, affirmed Philippine Ambassador to Rabat, Leslie Baja. He expressed satisfaction regarding the half-century of diplomatic relations between the two nations, a milestone celebrated last year.
Ambassador Baja highlighted the rich trajectory shared by the two countries, marked by a series of high-level visits, the signing of multiple agreements, and the establishment of strong human connections. He considers these accomplishments to be the essential groundwork for the subsequent fifty years of bilateral cooperation.
Economically, the Philippine diplomat noted a remarkable increase in bilateral trade exchanges in recent years. He revealed that commerce between Morocco and the Philippines has seen an approximate 50% surge, though he conceded that current figures still fall below the mutual expectations of both parties.
