Liverpool’s transfer targets: exploring options beyond barcola for the upcoming season

Currently with the French national team for the World Cup (June 11 – July 19) in North America, Bradley Barcola, who is under contract with Paris SG until June 2028, could soon become a prominent name in transfer headlines. The former Olympique Lyonnais talent is prominently featured on Liverpool’s shortlist, as the club seeks to inject fresh dynamism into its attacking lineup.

The offensive roster for PSG might see changes during the summer transfer window. While key players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Senny Mayulu, and Ousmane Dembélé appear set to remain, uncertainty looms over the futures of Gonçalo Ramos, Ibrahim Mbaye, Kang-in Lee, and Bradley Barcola. Notably, Barcola has been a long-standing target for Liverpool, and the impending arrival of Victor Muñoz to the Reds’ staff is unlikely to diminish this interest.

yan diomande emerges as a primary target

Liverpool is actively planning to acquire another swift forward for the upcoming campaign. Their top priority appears to be Yan Diomande, a player also reportedly on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking after Côte d’Ivoire’s opening World Cup match against Ecuador (a 1-0 victory), the 19-year-old winger commented, « I don’t know, I’m a RB Leipzig player, but why not? My agents are handling that, and I’m more focused on my World Cup; it’s the most important thing, it happens every four years. So I’m making the most of it, and we’ll see about the rest later… »

However, given the substantial asking price from Leipzig, reportedly around 100 million euros, and the fierce competition from PSG, Liverpool is diligently exploring other avenues. This includes the aforementioned Bradley Barcola, who remains under contract until 2028. The Reds are also considering other talents for this summer, such as Said El Mala from Cologne, Yankuba Minteh of Brighton, and Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille.
