Amidst the ongoing activities, Dr. Mamoudou Harouna Djingarey, President of Niger’s Consultative Council for Refoundation (CCR), held a crucial meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, with a prominent community parliamentary delegation.
Key discussions: 2027 budget and strategic direction
The CIP-UEMOA Bureau delegation was led by its interim president, Fononna Cheick Ahmed Coulibaly. Following this high-level engagement, Mr. Coulibaly unveiled the principal topics discussed with the Nigerien authorities.
This 58th ordinary session, taking place from July 13 to 18, 2026, in the Nigerien capital, is primarily focused on financial matters.
“We utilized this opportunity to present the President of the CCR with the substance of our deliberations, which centered on the examination and adoption of the CIP-UEMOA’s 2027 budget, along with the multi-year budgetary programming framework for 2027-2029,” stated Fononna Cheick Ahmed Coulibaly.
Review of first half 2026 and focus on regional integration
The parliamentarians also conducted a review of activities undertaken during the first half of 2026, before outlining priority actions and the necessary budgetary allocations for the second half. Seeking counsel and strategic guidance from the CCR President was a significant part of the agenda, aiming to accelerate the regional integration process.
