Political storm over Ndiaga Seck’s arrest as Cheikh Bara Ndiaye speaks out
The detention of opposition figure Ndiaga Seck has ignited fierce debates and accusations of political manipulation. Cheikh Bara Ndiaye, a vocal supporter of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, has come forward to denounce what he describes as a smear campaign targeting both men.
Ndiaga Seck, a prominent political figure, was taken into custody on Friday following allegations of unnatural acts and his name surfacing in a separate criminal investigation involving another suspect.
The case has swiftly escalated into a political firestorm after journalist Madiambal Diagne suggested a possible connection between Seck’s alleged actions and his alleged proximity to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
Cheikh Bara Ndiaye, a deputy from Sonko’s party, has forcefully rejected these claims. He condemned what he views as a deliberate attempt to tarnish reputations through baseless associations, emphasizing that such tactics are designed to undermine public trust in key political leaders.
The lawmaker also praised Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko for his handling of the situation. He commended Sonko’s commitment to letting justice run its course without interference, calling his approach a model of integrity during a turbulent political climate.
Following his apprehension, Ndiaga Seck is now in police custody and is expected to appear before the investigating judge in Linguère on Monday to proceed with the legal process.
