The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has kicked off its summer transfer window with a significant announcement. After three seasons in the French capital, Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos is set to join Italian giants AC Milan on a permanent deal until 2031.
The club confirmed the departure of the 23-year-old forward, who played a pivotal role in PSG’s back-to-back UEFA Champions League triumphs. A statement from the PSG read: “Following three seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, during which he secured 12 trophies, including two consecutive Champions League titles, Gonçalo Ramos will join AC Milan on a permanent transfer.”
AC Milan swiftly followed up with their own announcement, revealing the duration of Ramos’ contract. The Italian club stated: “Gonçalo Matias Ramos has signed with AC Milan until June 30, 2031, from Paris Saint-Germain FC.”
Ramos’ exit marks one of PSG’s highest-ever transfer fees
While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, reports suggest the deal is valued at €74 million, with potential add-ons pushing the total to €80 million. This makes it not only the most expensive acquisition in AC Milan‘s history but also the second-largest sale in PSG‘s history.
The club’s record sale remains Neymar’s €90 million move to Al-Hilal in 2023, but Ramos’ transfer surpasses previous deals involving Manuel Ugarte and Xavi Simons, both sold for around €50 million to Manchester United and Tottenham respectively. With this move, PSG‘s summer transfer activity is officially underway.
