PSG transfers ranked: where does Gonçalo Ramos’ sale to AC Milan stand?

With a valuation of €60 million, Gonçalo Ramos’ imminent move to AC Milan secures the second-largest sale in Paris Saint-Germain history. Only Neymar’s 2023 transfer to Al-Hilal, priced at €90 million, surpasses it.

Paris Saint-Germain is finalizing one of its most significant outgoing transfers ever. An agreement has been reached with AC Milan for Gonçalo Ramos, valued at approximately €60 million. This landmark deal marks the club’s second-highest sale in its history, albeit with a slight financial loss: the Portuguese striker was permanently signed for €65 million after a one-season loan agreement costing €20 million, and his departure leaves questions about the initial investment’s return.

Neymar’s record-breaking exit

Neymar’s transfer to Saudi club Al-Hilal in 2023 remains unmatched. The Brazilian forward, who joined PSG in 2017 for a world-record €222 million from FC Barcelona, commands €90 million in his deal with the Saudi club. However, his Saudi adventure proved short-lived—he made just seven appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

Within striking distance of €50 million

No other PSG sale has crossed the €50 million threshold—until now. Manuel Ugarte’s transfer to Manchester United in the final hours of the 2024 summer transfer window fetched €50 million, just a year after arriving from Sporting CP for €60 million. Despite a statistically solid first season (45 matches, 2 goals, 6 assists), the Uruguayan midfielder has struggled to establish himself permanently at Old Trafford.

A lucrative deal for Xavi Simons

The permanent transfer of Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig generated between €50 and €80 million for PSG. The deal, finalized in winter 2025, included a favorable contractual arrangement. Simons later moved to Tottenham, where he has become a key figure in the club’s survival efforts.

Other notable transfers

Below the top-tier sales, Marco Verratti’s move to Qatari club Al-Arabi for €45 million in 2023 and Gonçalo Guedes’ sale to Valencia for €40 million rank among the club’s most significant transfers. Earlier departures include David Luiz’s return to Chelsea for €35 million in 2016 and Ronaldinho’s transfer to FC Barcelona for over €30 million—a unique case from the pre-Qatari ownership era.

What’s next?

With Gonçalo Ramos’ transfer still awaiting official confirmation, another high-profile dossier could gain momentum. South Korean international Lee Kang-in, under contract until 2028, is drawing interest from Atlético Madrid. The 50-cap player and 10-goal scorer for his country has been on the Spanish club’s radar for several weeks.
