Strengthening its network across Morocco, Uber has officially launched its operations in Tangier and Agadir to support the nation’s thriving tourism industry. This strategic growth builds upon the ride-hailing services already established in Casablanca and Rabat, positioning the platform to benefit from Morocco’s status as a top-tier regional travel hub as the country prepares for the 2030 World Cup.
As the Kingdom pursues an ambitious goal of attracting 26 million visitors by 2030, the introduction of these services aims to provide reliable, secure, and convenient mobility. The objective is to elevate the overall travel experience for international guests, ensuring seamless transit from their arrival at hotels to various points of interest and city exploration.
By establishing a presence in Agadir and Tangier, the company is moving to satisfy an increasing need for dependable transportation options that facilitate easier travel throughout the country. In both newly added cities, users can now request rides via the mobile application, with choices including UberX and UberXL, similar to the offerings in Casablanca and Rabat.
The expansion comes at a time of significant growth for the sector. Morocco saw a record-breaking 19.8 million tourists in 2025, representing a 14% rise over the previous year, while tourism earnings climbed to 124 billion dirhams by November. This upward trend persisted into the first quarter of 2026, which recorded 4.3 million visitors, a jump of more than 7% compared to the same timeframe the year before.
