Why Ayyoub Bouaddi’s move to PSG is on hold

After winning the Champions League for the second consecutive year, Paris Saint-Germain is planning an active summer transfer window. The club aims to strengthen Luis Enrique’s squad and has been exploring several options. Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly keeping an eye on Ayyoub Bouaddi, the 18-year-old midfielder who is currently representing Morocco at the 2026 World Cup. The LOSC Lille prodigy has attracted interest from multiple clubs, but one specific reason is blocking his transfer to the Parisian side.

Manchester City has a strategy for Ayyoub Bouaddi

Manchester City remains in contact regarding Bouaddi. The Premier League champions are working on a plan to sign the player now but delay his arrival until the summer of 2027, allowing him to spend another season at Lille. While the deal is not yet finalized, City is actively pursuing this approach to secure the young talent.

Paris Saint-Germain prioritises attack and defence

Other clubs are also in the race. Liverpool has held meetings, Arsenal as well, and Paris Saint-Germain continues to monitor the player. However, the French champions have not advanced significantly on this file because their current priority is reinforcing the attack and defence. This gives Manchester City an opening to take the lead and try to sign Bouaddi for 2027. If Paris Saint-Germain does not push further, Ayyoub Bouaddi will have plenty of options for his future. The situation remains one to watch.
