Amadou Ba reveals explosive details of Sonko-Touré phone calls

The former Prime Minister allegedly expressed harsh criticism of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during a private conversation with Ousmane Sonko, according to Pastef deputy Amadou Ba.
During a press briefing organized by Pastef-Les Patriotes, deputy Amadou Ba unveiled what he described as the actual truth behind alleged phone calls between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré while the current Prime Minister was still incarcerated. This disclosure comes as part of a broader defense strategy by the government coalition regarding allegations of mismanagement of public funds.
According to Amadou Ba, Aminata Touré—who previously served as Prime Minister—made scathing remarks about Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this conversation. “Diomaye lacks the capability to lead this nation. If you allow him to stay, he won’t last two years,” she allegedly told Sonko, as recounted by the Pastef deputy. These comments, he argued, starkly contrast with Touré’s current public stance on the matter.
The deputy accused the former Prime Minister of attempting to rewrite history, suggesting her statements were shaped by shifting political alliances rather than factual accuracy. Amid escalating tensions between the two factions, Amadou Ba called for restraint, emphasizing Pastef’s commitment to political dialogue over confrontation.
“She’s pushing us toward violence, but we won’t take that path,” he declared, reaffirming the coalition’s dedication to peaceful debate and constructive engagement.
