Arsène Kouassi’s exit from Lorient: five european clubs in pursuit of burkinabè defender

Arsène Kouassi, the dynamic left-back from Burkina Faso, is poised to leave FC Lorient after a standout season where he contributed 2 goals and 8 assists in 31 appearances. His impressive performances have caught the attention of top European clubs, sparking a flurry of transfer interest.

Over the past month, several high-profile teams have initiated discussions regarding Kouassi’s availability. German giants Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart, alongside Eintracht Frankfurt, have made formal inquiries. Italian clubs Genoa and AS Roma have also entered the fray, all vying for the services of the 24-year-old defender.

Rumors suggest Kouassi’s next destination could mirror that of his fellow Burkinabè international, Dango Ouattara, who recently joined Bournemouth. Should Lorient lose defender Loïc Truffer to the same club, Kouassi may step in to fill the void at the English side, strengthening their defensive options.

With the transfer window still open, the likelihood of Kouassi remaining with Lorient next season appears increasingly slim. His market value has been assessed at approximately €15 million, reflecting both his growing reputation and the premium attached to his position.
