In Bénin, President Romuald Wadagni has officially announced the composition of his first government. This new cabinet consists of 24 ministers, including several delegated ministers.
Following his victory in the presidential election on April 12, 2026, Romuald Wadagni took the oath of office on Sunday, May 24, during a solemn ceremony held at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou. On the very evening of his inauguration, the new head of state proceeded to form his inaugural government.
The newly appointed team comprises 24 ministers, among whom are three delegated ministers serving under the Minister of Economy and Finance. Notably, seven ministers from the previous administration of Patrice Talon have been retained in this new government, with some transitioning to different portfolios.
President Romuald Wadagni has pledged to maintain and advance the developmental momentum initiated in Bénin by his predecessor, Patrice Talon, signaling a commitment to continuity in national progress.
