Cameroon bar association champions rule of law at Founders Museum event

During the inauguration of the Founders Museum in Yaoundé—held as part of the 250th anniversary of American Independence—the Cameroon Bar Association took center stage in a discussion on democracy, governance, and the rule of law.

The Cameroon Bar Association played an active role in the launch of the Founders Museum, an exhibition organized by the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé to commemorate the bicentennial of American independence. Leading the delegation were key figures from the Bar, including Me Serges Martin Zangue, Secretary of the Order, Me Adeline Fouegoum, Treasurer, and Me Philippe Memong, representing the President of the Bar for the Central, South, and East regions.

The highlight of the event was a panel dedicated to the pillars of democracy, governance, and the rule of law, which brought together academics, historians, and institutional leaders. Speaking on behalf of the Cameroon Bar, Me Serges Martin Zangue emphasized the vital contribution of lawyers in safeguarding fundamental freedoms, advancing justice, and strengthening institutions. He also highlighted the enduring legacy of the Cameroon Bar in reinforcing the rule of law over the years.
