The Ministry of Environment, Fisheries and Sustainable Development has issued a strict directive prohibiting agents of the water and forestry department from wearing military uniforms, insignia, ranks, berets or any other defense-related attributes.
This circular, signed by the ministry’s Secretary-General, Koularambaye Koundja Julien, follows repeated observations of military personnel—either temporarily assigned or permanently transferred—as well as civilian staff, donning gear reserved exclusively for the Chad National Army (ANT).
Under this new regulation, any violation will result in disciplinary measures. Central and regional service heads are now tasked with ensuring full compliance, effective immediately.
