The Chadian government is ramping up its efforts to combat human trafficking, with a sharp focus on protecting women and children. A nationwide directive has been issued to security and justice officials, underscoring the urgency of this battle and outlining critical enforcement actions.

Human trafficking represents a severe breach of human rights, frequently involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. As a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, Chad has implemented robust legal frameworks, including Ordinance Nº006/PR/2018 and Law Nº12/PR/2018, to dismantle this criminal network.

Under the new measures, authorities are required to conduct prompt investigations, document findings in detailed reports, and ensure cases are swiftly transferred to competent courts. All reported incidents must also be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Anti-Trafficking Commission for rigorous follow-up.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with ensuring these directives are strictly enforced. This coordinated approach aims to establish a comprehensive national database, laying the groundwork for a more effective anti-trafficking strategy across Chad.
