The Chadian government is ramping up its campaign to combat human trafficking, with a particular focus on protecting women and children. Authorities are enforcing existing laws with greater rigor while issuing fresh directives to bolster the fight against this crime.

Human trafficking remains a severe violation of fundamental rights, often involving heinous acts such as sexual exploitation and forced labor. Chad, a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, has enacted multiple legal measures to address this scourge. Key legislation includes Ordinance No. 006/PR/2018 and Law No. 12/PR/2018, both designed to strengthen the legal framework.

Law enforcement and judicial officials are now required to expedite investigations, prepare detailed reports, and ensure cases are promptly transferred to competent courts. All trafficking cases must also be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Commission Against Human Trafficking for thorough monitoring and follow-up.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with ensuring strict compliance with these directives. The initiative aims to establish a comprehensive national database, providing critical data to shape a more effective anti-trafficking strategy across Chad.
