Authorities in Abéché have shut down an illegal slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighbourhood, reinforcing public hygiene and food safety measures. The operation, carried out on Thursday, put an end to unregulated animal slaughter practices that violated health and legal standards.
Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator of the first arrondissement, the raid uncovered several livestock heads on the premises. Local officials stressed that all animal slaughter must take place in approved facilities to guarantee the safety of meat for consumption.
The municipal administration, acting under the coordination of Abéché’s mayor, reiterated its commitment to enforcing hygiene rules and protecting consumers. Further inspections are planned to combat any practices that threaten public health, as part of ongoing efforts to promote a clean and safe environment for all residents.
