Enhancing border security with joint military efforts between Chad and Central African Republic

The military authorities of Chad and the Central African Republic are intensifying their collaborative efforts to bolster security along their shared border. A high-level working session, led by Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor—commander of the joint Chad–Central African Republic force—was convened to assess recent joint operations conducted in the field.

Attended by senior military officials from both nations, the meeting centered on evaluating the outcomes of operations Al-Hamamia 1 and Al-Hamamia 2, alongside discussions on emerging security challenges in key border areas. Participants also explored innovative tactics to enhance the deployment of defense and security forces in vulnerable zones.

During the talks, Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor endorsed the operational blueprint for an upcoming mission dubbed Sentinelle, proposed by the G5 Sahel cell. This initiative aims to deploy additional military units equipped with fixed and mobile surveillance posts, designed to heighten monitoring of suspicious movements, accelerate joint response times, and deepen cross-border security coordination.

The commander emphasized that these measures are critical to safeguarding communities residing along the frontier and addressing the region’s pressing security threats with greater precision and efficiency.
