By early Friday, officials confirmed ten arrests linked to post-match festivities in Paris and its outskirts. Three were made for phone theft in Paris, four for violent offenses involving weapons and criminal conspiracy, also in Paris, and three for illegal firework discharges in Seine-Saint-Denis. Authorities have yet to confirm whether these arrests resulted in formal detentions.

Minor injury reported after altercation in Paris’s 7th arrondissement

In Paris, a power outage disrupted plans to screen the match at Grand Rex, forcing fans to gather in nearby bars. After the final whistle, supporters briefly spilled onto the streets, causing temporary traffic disruptions before police intervention restored order.

Around midnight in the 7th arrondissement along quai Jacques Chirac, a minor scuffle between rival fans led to a stabbing. One individual sustained a non-life-threatening injury to the hip and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

It’s worth noting that security services had previously flagged this quarter-final clash between France and Morocco as a high-risk event. Authorities warned that “given the elimination nature of the match and the high stakes of a semi-final berth—despite the late kick-off time—public gatherings accompanied by pyrotechnics were likely, regardless of the outcome.”
