“I want tomorrow the FEG to be recognized not only for defending businesses, but above all for making them succeed.”
This was the wish expressed by Alain Claude Kouakoua, president of the Fédération des Entreprises du Gabon (FEG), at the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF), held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès.
The gathering brings together decision-makers and international partners, serving as a platform to tackle Gabon’s economic challenges.
Speaking pragmatically, the FEG leader noted that no country has developed without strong enterprises. For him, the company is not a peripheral player—it is the engine of growth.
Vice President of the Republic, Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier, for his part, underscored the state’s understanding and support for the private sector: “The state will do its part to ensure that the cleanup of public finances allows, in due time, settlement of what must be settled with private companies.”
This commitment carries a strong ambition: “to build a diversified economy, less dependent on raw materials and more focused on industrialization.”
The forum thus represents a robust dialogue aimed at advancing Gabon’s economic challenges and objectives.
