Morocco joins international stabilization force in Gaza with humanitarian mission
Rabat, Morocco – Morocco has officially signed the framework agreement for its participation in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, following the Almighty’s directives from His Majesty King Mohammed VI. As Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the King’s guidance underscored Morocco’s commitment to regional and global peace efforts.
The agreement was signed in Rabat during a high-level meeting chaired by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Deputy Minister for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi. The ceremony brought together Morocco’s top military leadership alongside a delegation led by Nickolay Mladenov, the High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council.
Humanitarian and security-focused contribution
According to a statement from the National Defense Administration, this signing formalizes Morocco’s role as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, aligning with the Royal Vision articulated during the council’s inaugural meeting in Washington. The move demonstrates the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to peace, international cooperation, and solidarity.
Moroccan authorities highlighted the FAR’s extensive experience in United Nations-led peacekeeping missions, reaffirming the country’s long-standing commitment to fostering stability across the region and beyond. Officials from the Gaza Peace Council praised Morocco’s engagement, which includes:
- Deploying senior FAR officers to the ISF’s joint command structure;
- Contributing personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the National Security Directorate (DGSN);
- Establishing a field military hospital.
The signed accord establishes the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s involvement, reflecting a shared determination to restore peace and security in Gaza through humanitarian and security initiatives.
