The summer transfer window has been open for weeks, and Olympique de Marseille is making headlines. The club is under UEFA scrutiny and must sell players to avoid exclusion from European competitions. While Mason Greenwood’s future dominates discussions, another star could also be packing his bags.

After a disastrous season, no one at Marseille is safe. Missing out on Champions League qualification already forced OM to tighten its belt, but the need has become an urgent crisis following UEFA’s recent warning. New sporting director Grégory Lorenzi is working on multiple fronts to manage this crucial summer for the club.
Greenwood could leave OM
The first major case is well known: everyone is talking about Mason Greenwood. The 24-year-old winger, Marseille’s top scorer over the past two seasons, appears close to leaving, with Fenerbahçe and especially AS Roma interested in signing him. Italian media report advanced negotiations with the Roman club, but recently there has been a significant chill. OM reportedly disapproved of how Roma’s directors handled the matter, allegedly contacting the player without first informing his club.
Højbjerg also on the way out?
While that situation is stalling, another could soon move forward. Atalanta wants to convince Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to leave Marseille. He is reportedly the top target for new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who previously tried to sign him for Juventus and now wants another chance. The door is not closed; in fact, OM has reportedly agreed to let the Danish international go, setting a minimum price of €10 million.
