Ousmane Sonko strengthens PASTEF’s roots in Senegal’s Jolof region

The PASTEF-Les Patriotes party has completed a sweeping 48-hour political tour across the Jolof region. Delegations crisscrossed all 19 communes in the Linguère department—from Dahra to Barkédji, stopping in Sagatta and Yang-Yang—guided by party leader Ousmane Sonko, State Minister Habib Sy, and a host of national officials and coalition allies.

Building grassroots support in the heart of Jolof

This intensive ground campaign was more than a show of strength; it was a deep dive into the local fabric. Meetings with religious and traditional leaders blended seamlessly with strategy sessions involving party cadres, women’s groups, and youth networks. Every stop aimed to reinforce PASTEF’s presence at the grassroots level.

Inauguration of a new departmental hub

The culmination of this mobilization was the official launch of the party’s new departmental headquarters in Linguère. The inauguration marked the start of a membership drive, with a clear goal: to expand PASTEF’s territorial footprint through intensive outreach in villages and neighborhoods across the department.

A call for unity and collective progress

In sync with this structural boost, local leaders issued a heartfelt appeal for unity. The invitation extended beyond loyal supporters to include political figures from other movements willing to join the shared vision of territorial development championed by the party.
