peru backs Morocco’s Sahara autonomy plan and territorial integrity
Peru’s incoming government reaffirms its commitment to backing Morocco’s territorial sovereignty over its southern provinces, as announced by the transition team of President-elect Keiko Fujimori.

During a meeting with Morocco’s Ambassador to Peru, Amin Chaoudri, Peru’s President-elect Keiko Fujimori received a congratulatory message from King Mohammed VI. The encounter highlighted Peru’s future government’s unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces.
Keiko Fujimori also reiterated her administration’s full endorsement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, which designates the Moroccan Autonomy Plan as the sole framework for resolving the long-standing regional dispute over Western Sahara.
The King’s message extended warm congratulations to Fujimori, acknowledging the trust placed in her by the Peruvian people to advance their aspirations for progress and prosperity.
Emphasizing the strong and historic bonds between Morocco and Peru, founded on mutual respect and shared values, His Majesty expressed Morocco’s eagerness to collaborate closely with Peru to elevate bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, benefiting both nations.
