Luis Enrique is closely monitoring his players’ performances at the World Cup, and Bradley Barcola has been a standout. The Paris Saint-Germain winger scored his first goal in the tournament against Senegal last week (3-1) and earned his first start for France against Iraq on Monday night (3-0). These displays come amid ongoing uncertainty over his future at the club.
England clubs circling: Arsenal, Liverpool keen
Barcola’s contract with PSG runs until June 30, 2028, but no extension has been agreed. Liverpool have been pressing for a move, a trend confirmed by journalist Laurent Perrin. “Barcola is an exceptional player, and many clubs are logically courting him, hoping to take advantage of his situation in Paris where he has never been an undisputed starter. His stats at PSG don’t reflect his talent. England is beckoning: Arsenal and Liverpool are the most interested,” Perrin said.
Luis Enrique determined to keep Barcola
As was the case in the summer of 2025 when Liverpool showed interest, Luis Enrique is refusing to let the dynamic winger leave. “Two questions remain: does PSG want to sell him? Does he really want to leave? The answer to the first is no. Luis Enrique wants to keep him. But following a principle established since his arrival, the Spanish coach will not oppose a player who wishes to move on,” Perrin added during a Q&A session.
