During the inaugural congress of the Taxawu Sénégal party founded by Khalifa Sall, Aïssata Tall Sall delivered a sharp political critique aimed at the current administration while calling for strategic unity.
Addressing the ruling power directly, she stated that their actions have already disqualified them as legitimate leaders of law. “These individuals have said no; you do not represent the power. It is already clear that they are not people of the law, and they are certainly not kings,” she remarked.
The former minister also highlighted the vital need for political resolve and organization. She encouraged the audience by saying, “Keep your heads high; we must always show our presence. Courage is essential, and you possess it. Intelligence is key, and we are intelligent. However, in politics, strategy is what matters most—a serious strategy for Sénégal.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming political calendar, she advocated for a progressive display of the opposition’s influence. She noted that this strength would be demonstrated step by step, following the local and legislative elections, eventually leading up to the presidential race.
To conclude her address, Aïssata Tall Sall offered a message of hope and solidarity to the party members. She expressed her full support for Khalifa Sall, affirming that they are in the right position to challenge for leadership. “I wish you the best of luck and offer our prayers. You are where you belong with your comrades. We will stand by you, and together, we will strive to reclaim this power,” she declared.
