The Republic of Burundi has unequivocally reaffirmed its steadfast and unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire national territory, specifically including the Sahara region.
This firm position was officially articulated in a joint communiqué, which concluded the productive discussions held between Édouard Bizimana, Burundi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and Development Cooperation, and his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad.
