Ivorian pm rallies investors for 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, focused on investors, was inaugurated today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé presided over the opening session, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s economic transformation agenda.

Investor confidence and private capital mobilization took center stage as the Prime Minister addressed a gathering of over 700 international investors from allied nations. “Today represents a milestone in our collective journey to unlock private investment and drive economic growth,” he stated. “Your presence here underscores the trust placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and its trajectory of sustained expansion.”

In a room filled with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the private sector, Robert Beugré Mambé emphasized that this forum serves as a vital platform for fostering dialogue and aligning shared development objectives. “By joining forces with us, you are not just investing capital—you are investing in a vision of a more competitive, job-creating economy,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. Highlighting the nation’s economic resilience and adaptability, he noted that over recent years, Côte d’Ivoire has maintained an average growth rate of 6.5%, solidifying its reputation as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, even amid global volatility.

“To investors present today, this is a market brimming with untapped potential,” he declared. “The initiatives of this session will fast-track investments in the PND 2026-2030 priority sectors—particularly industrialization, local raw material processing to enhance value addition, and the development of critical infrastructure such as transport, digital connectivity, and logistics. These efforts are designed to bolster our competitiveness and appeal, while also investing in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.”

He also referenced the first day of the Consultative Group, which drew more than 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, to discuss institutional partnerships and the country’s development strategy.

In a show of solidarity, key private sector representatives echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Moroccan Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) and Chair of the MEDEF Africa Committee, and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments. They expressed unwavering confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision and affirmed their readiness to play a leading role in executing the PND 2026-2030.
