Ivorian prime minister rallies investors for 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, focused exclusively on investors, kicked off today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan under the leadership of Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted the critical role of private investment in turning Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious development goals into reality. “This session marks a pivotal step in our collective journey to harness private capital for sustainable growth, job creation, and economic transformation,” he remarked. Over 700 investors from allied nations have traveled to Abidjan to participate in this vital exchange.

The forum brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and private sector representatives who traveled from across the globe to engage in high-level discussions. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of fostering a shared vision with these key stakeholders to drive the nation’s economic agenda forward.

Robert Beugré Mambé reinforced the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic overhaul. He reassured investors that the country’s economy has consistently demonstrated resilience and adaptability, achieving an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a testament to its status as one of Africa’s most vibrant economies.

“This is a market brimming with opportunity,” he stated. “Today’s proceedings will fast-track investments in the PND 2026-2030 priority sectors, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, and the expansion of critical infrastructure such as transportation, digital networks, and logistics. These investments are essential to enhancing our economic competitiveness and appeal.”

The Prime Minister also underscored the need to invest in human capital, innovation, and essential services to cultivate a more productive and inclusive economy. He proudly noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business organizations took to the podium to voice their support. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi, President of the Comité Afrique at the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the Société financière internationale (SFI), pledged substantial financial commitments. They expressed unwavering confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision and readiness to play an active role in implementing the PND 2026-2030.
