Leipzig stands firm on yan diomandé amid psg transfer reports

The transfer saga surrounding Yan Diomandé has intensified in recent hours. The highly sought-after Ivorian winger, a prime target on the transfer market, reportedly expressed a desire to join Paris Saint-Germain. However, RB Leipzig appears to have a very different perspective on his immediate future.

Following a stellar start to the current World Cup, mirroring his impressive season with RB Leipzig, Yan Diomandé has become a coveted asset. While Liverpool reportedly made him a priority, the Ivorian winger is said to have chosen PSG, signaling a potential move to the reigning European champions. Nevertheless, Marcel Schäfer, the German club’s sporting director, has poured cold water on the Parisian club’s aspirations.

Leipzig dismisses PSG’s interest in Diomandé

“Our objective is unequivocal: Yan Diomandé will be playing for RB Leipzig next season. And we will not deviate from this stance!” Schäfer declared. “We are fully aware of his immense value. Certainly, if Yan maintains this trajectory, a moment will arrive for him to take the next step in his career, but that time is not this year. Crucially, we hold a four-year contract, and the control remains with us. These current developments are, above all, a testament to his outstanding performances – nothing more, nothing less. Should we fail to reach an alternative solution, then so be it; he still has four years remaining on his contract. I reiterate: Yan Diomandé will unequivocally remain an RB Leipzig player.”

“Our intention is clear: Yan Diomandé will play for RB Leipzig next year”

Meanwhile, Yan Diomandé adopted a much more ambiguous tone regarding his future during a recent press conference. “You are informing me,” he responded. “I don’t have internet, I don’t have Instagram, I don’t have TikTok. It is my agent who handles discussions with the club; I have no information. I don’t wish to discuss this, even with my agent, because playing in a World Cup is a unique opportunity, occurring only every four years, so it must be fully embraced. My focus is on making history with my country and giving my absolute best. My dream is to represent my nation. I no longer use Instagram or TikTok, so I see nothing. My agent will manage the rest. For me, the paramount concern is concentrating on the World Cup and achieving something memorable.”
